Margaret was the oldest of 5 daughters and 3 sons

Charles Peter Snyder was the fifth child of Charles and Orpha Snyder. He was born August 16, 1881 on a farm northwest of Freeborn Minnesota. The family moved to a farm in Bryon Township, Waseca county, where he attended school in 1895 at age 13, the family moved by covered wagon north to Wrightstown Minnesota where they lived until 1898 at age seventeen the family moved to Wilkin county Foxhome Minnesota where he grew to manhood. He worked on on farms in that area. he had learned to play the mouth organ and called square dances. He met and married Dora Mussman, a girl whose family lived in the Foxhome area. They had ten children, Dora names the boys each with five letters Margaret Fern Snyder born September 25 1900. Verne Alton Snyder June30, 1904, Myrtle Malette Snyder born December 20, 1905, Ethal Mae Snyder born July 31, 1907. The twin boy names Edward died a few days afterbirth, Minnie Louciles Snyder born June 6, 1909, Orpha Amanda Snyder born March 9, 1911. These children were all born in the Doran Breckenridge area, it was near this time when the family moved to Pine County on a farm near Bruno Minnesota where Peter worked in the woods logging, his younger brother Robert went to that area to work in the woods. Peter also farmed. The family lived in that area for 10 years, the other children were Lloyd Edward Stanley Snyder September 25, 1912, Eryle Duetle Snyder August 18, 1915, Gayle Harlen October 28, 1919. The family lived in that area until around 1920 when they moved to Duluth Minnesota where he and his son Verne worked for Pfeffer Construction Company. He moved to the Chicago area where Verne and Myrtle lived, Dora died in January 24,1945 in Waukeagan, Illinois. Peter later remarried Lillian Van Duyn in Waukegan. He travelled with Lillian enjoyed dancing, Peter died on May 31, 1953, in Waukegan at Victory Memorial Hospital, after suffering a heart attack in Chicago on way home for Lorraine's wedding. He is buried in the North Shore Garden of Memories.
